Art Owen to give inaugural David Sprott Distinguished Lecture

The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo in Canada has announced that Professor Art Own will inaugurate the David Sprott Distinguished Lecture Series on Wednesday, May 14. David Sprott was the first Chair of the Department and first Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo, and this lecture series was created in recognition of his tremendous leadership as well as his highly influential research in statistical science. Art Owen graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B. Math. in Statistics and Computer Science in 1981.
