Rina Friedberg receives 2018 Marjorie Lozoff Award
The Clayman Institute for Gender Research announced their recipient of the 2018 Marjorie Lozoff Award for Research on Women and Gender is Statistics Department PhD student Rina Friedberg, in recognition of her work honoring Lozoff’s legacy by contributing to the advancement of women and society. Rina was nominated for the award by Professor Mike Baiocchi, who acclaimed her for elevating the level of data analysis being done by her team, now working on an ambitious research project in Nairobi with female empowerment programs. With the funds from the award, Rina will be able to visit Nairobi and present her work, as well as pilot a new study. The department is truly proud of her accomplishments.
