Soros Fellowships awarded for 2014

First-year PhD candidate Jessica Hwang has received one of 30 Paul & Daisy Soros New American Fellowships for 2014. Jessica is a member of the university's Statistics for Social Good working group and will use the Fellowship award to continue working toward a doctorate in statistics. She aims to partner with advocacy groups and explore how statistics can be used to identify and address social problems.
