Consulting Services

The Department of Statistics offers a free online consulting service to members of the broader research community during each Stanford academic quarter.

Under the supervision of a senior faculty member, Statistics graduate students arrange virtual meetings with clients to help with statistical research questions in areas such as:

  • Experimental design and data acquisition
  • Data exploration, analysis, and interpretation
  • Data modeling and model fitting
  • Statistical inference for estimation, testing, and prediction

Students taking statistics courses should understand that this is not a tutoring service.

Consulting Services is on hiatus this Winter and will return in Spring Quarter.

If you need assistance with programming, coding, or using statistical software, there are other resources at Stanford that will be able to help, such as:

  • SRCC, the Stanford Research Computing Center
  • SSDS, a group within Stanford Libraries that helps with statistical software
  • Computational Consulting, advice on scientific computing topics offered by ICME
  • The Data Studio, Stanford Medicine's biomedical data support services
