Lester Mackey is a 2023 MacArthur Fellow
Our Adjunct Professor of Statistics, Lester has been named one of 20 recipients of this prestigious honor recognizing exceptional creativity and promise for important future advances based on a track record of significant accomplishments to date. The MacArthur Foundation awards these unrestricted fellowships to talented individuals who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction.
Fellow awardee this year is Rina Foygel Barber, presently Louis Block Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago and a former postdoctoral scholar here, so we are celebrating this news twice over! Our warmest congratulations go out to these impressive and deserving folks.
